Try to pick your team at least a week before the match
For home matches, try to arrive early to help set up. Don't rely on other club members to do so!
For away matches, ensure that each player is able to get to the match on time and get home.
Decide between your team mates and the opposing captain which time control to use. Make sure all players are aware of this at the start of the match.
Before the start of the match compile your team list without reference to the opposing team list or any players present from the opposing team, then exchange this with the other captain.
Once the match has started, ensure all clocks are going.
A player may consult you regarding the state of the match before offering or accepting a draw
Once finished ensure that you inform the league controller of the result promptly, either by e-mail, by sending a signed result card, or by using the online submission feature (registration required) on the league website.
If a player in a match asks his captain for help or clarification on any serious issue relevant to his game, this captain must call in the opposing captain (or if necessary a substitute senior player from the opposing team) to resolve any problem and not propose a course of action on his own to the player involved or his opponent. The players directly involved may pause their clocks whilst the matter is being resolved.
